(June 20, 2016) St. Louis, MO… The EducationPlus® Board of Directors is pleased to announce the selection of Mr. John Waters as the new Director of the St. Louis Regional Professional Development Center (RPDC), a resource of EducationPlus. The RPDC works with the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) to ensure area schools are provided with the latest state trainings and mandates. “John is an educator and administrator with decades of experience,” said EducationPlus Chief Academic Officer Dr. Jennifer Tiller. “He understands the important collaborative work we do in area schools and he also knows the value of interpersonal relationships with our internal and external audiences.”

Mr. Waters has been serving as the interim Director of the RPDC for the past several months. “I already know the people and understand the work of the organization,” he said. “I am proud to be selected and have made it my goal to make the RPDC the first place that all of our districts call when they think of high quality professional learning.”

Previously Mr. Waters served as the principal of Holt High School in the Wentzville School District for 14 years. From 1994-2000 he was the activities coordinator and then assistant principal at Ft. Zumwalt North High School. Prior to that he was a teacher, coach and activities director for Marquette High School in Alton, IL. Mr. Waters received a Bachelors and Masters from SIU-Edwardsville and an Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from Lindenwood University.

EducationPlus is a non-profit educational service agency that brings school districts together to share resources, information and services in educational technology, cooperative purchasing, staff development and more. EducationPlus serves as a proactive voice for education and is a voluntary, membership-driven organization with 62 member school districts in the St. Louis metropolitan area.
