William Woods University’s Graduate College offers a Doctorate of Education in Leadership. A new cadre in the St. Louis metro area begins in January. The university is taking applications through November 1, 2012; applicants must have their Educational Specialist degree and will receive their Ed.D. upon completion of the program. (Cadre participants will be completed with coursework in in two years). The location for the weekly classes is at the Union School District, with a possibility of a videoconference connection to Cooperating School Districts of Greater St. Louis.
A philosophy of leadership statement, highlighting the applicant’s personal leadership characteristics and past professional leadership experiences, as well as the applicant’s purpose in pursuing the doctoral degree and expectation of the benefit of obtaining the doctorate, is a requirement of the application process.
All participants will need access to a laptop for each course; courses are $500 per credit hour. The Ed.D. program requirements are not aligned with any DESE certification.
