The Midwest Education Technology Conference celebrates it’s 30th anniversary in 2013. Produced by Cooperating School Districts of Greater St. Louis, METC is a well-known, respected, instructional technology conference for K-12 educators. Presenters and attendees from Missouri and beyond attend each year to interact with experts in the field, learn from neighboring school districts, and share best practices.

This year, METC has added a new feature to the program- the Midwest Spotlight Educators recognition. CSD hopes you will nominate a colleague or apply to be one of the conference’s spotlight educators; this new recognition honors leaders from the region in education technology, whose practices are making a difference for students and teachers. This is reflected in increased knowledge, improved skills and academic achievement by integrating technology into their instructional practices.

What is METC looking for in a Midwest Spotlight Educator? The nominee/ applicant should demonstrate motivation, engagement, transformation, and connection using technology to improve teaching & learning. At least two references are requested for each nominee/ applicant, who must be a certified teacher in either Missouri or Illinois. If the nominee/ applicant is accepted as a spotlight educator by the METC Advisory Committee, (s)he must present at least two times during METC 2013.

For more information, including the benefits of this recognition and how to submit a nomination/ application, visit METCconference.org. The submission deadline is Friday, August 24, 2012- one month from today. METC is February 11-13 in 2013.
